WHAT IS THE CAPACITY OF THE BOATHOUSE SHELLY BEACH?

The Boathouse Shelly Beach can hold up to 60 guests for a seated + 120 guests canapé in our upstairs area. Downstairs can accommodate up to 80 guests seated and up to 200 guests canapé.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Included in your exclusive use of the venue, The Boathouse Team to set up, pack down, + to take care of you + your guests for the duration of your Wedding or Event, floral displays in the entrance + main room, standard table settings, causal lounge areas, dance space + general venue styling.  

WHAT DOES A STANDARD TABLE SET-UP INCLUDE?

Tables + napkins, white dinner plates, white side plates, cutlery, + glassware.  

WHAT IS THE LONGEST TIME FRAME THAT WE CAN HOLD OUR WEDDING OR EVENT?

7 hours is the maximum time frame for which you may hire Shelly Beach upstairs.

Any 1 hour Extension involves a $750.00 Venue Hire Fee + a per person cost for your unlimited chosen Beverage Package. 

All weddings or events have a conclusion time of 11.00pm, except for Sundays which must conclude by 10.00pm. Please note public holiday times vary.

IS THERE AN ADDITIONAL FEE REQUIRED TO BOOK THE DOWNSTAIRS SPACE FOR MY EVENT?

Yes, there is an additional fee for booking the downstairs space. Please ask your Event Manager for pricing.

DO YOU HAVE SPIRIT OPTIONS?

We can organise spirits for your wedding or event to be available. You can choose to have a pre-paid bar tab or allow for guests to purchase spirits. The spirits will be served from behind the bar, after main meal service, + must be mixed - we do not allow shots, or service of alcohol neat or on the rocks. Please let your Event Manager know prior to your wedding or event if you would like to have spirits.

DOES THE BOATHOUSE SHELLY BEACH ALLOW BYO?

Unfortunately we do not offer BYO.

WHEN CAN OUR VENDORS HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE VENUE?

Access is 2 hours prior. Earlier access can be confirmed closer to the date depending on other bookings. Please speak to your Event Coordinator to confirm timings.

HOW MANY BOATHOUSE TEAM ARE SCHEDULED FOR OUR RECEPTION?

Approximately one team member per 15 guests.  

WILL OUR EVENT MANAGER BE PRESENT ON THE DAY?

Yes, your Event Manager will be present at the beginning of your Wedding or Event to ensure that all is running smoothly + as planned. 

 

DO YOU CHARGE A FEE FOR CAKE CUTTING + SERVICE? 

Cake cutting is complimentary.  

DO YOU HAVE RESTRICTIONS FOR BANDS REGARDING NUMBER OF MEMBERS + LEVEL OF NOISE? 

A 3-piece band is the maximum we can allow, this includes the vocalist, no subwoofers are to be used in or outside the venue at any time and all music must cease at 11pm and 10pm on Sundays. 

DO YOU CATER FOR OUR GUESTS WITH SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, we do! Please list all guests in our Special Meal Requirements section on your Final Details Form, + we will cater for their needs

WILL THERE BE ANOTHER WEDDING OR EVENT BOOKED ON THE SAME DAY? 

This is possible for an event. We do allow for sufficient enough time between each of our bookings if this is to happen. Please note, only one wedding is booked per day.

DO OUR VENDORS NEED TO BE SEATED AT A GUEST TABLE FOR THEIR MEAL? 

They may be seated at a guest table if they happen to be a friend or acquaintance, however, most vendors will be happy to be seated just outside of the venue.

We charge $70.00pp for your vendors and provide a plated main meal.

DO YOU OFFER AN OPTION FOR OUR CEREMONY IN THE CASE OF WET WEATHER?

If you have the upstairs area booked for your wedding, the ceremony can also be held in this space at an additional cost. If you hold your reception downstairs you can hire the upstairs area for your ceremony for an additional cost. Please speak to your Event Coordinator for further information.  

WHO DO WE CONTACT IN REGARDS TO BOOKING AN OFF-SITE LOCATION FOR OUR CEREMONY?

The Northern Beaches Council. 

DO YOU PROVIDE CEREMONY STYLING OPTIONS?

Yes, we have The Boathouse Ceremony Styling Package which may be set at a location on the Northern Beaches or on-site - please contact your venue Coordinator to check that the Ceremony Styling Package is available for your date.  

DO YOU OFFER BEVERAGE SERVICE AT OUR CHOSEN CEREMONY LOCATION?

If you book our Ceremony Styling Package you have the option to include a beverage station at your ceremony location, if council permits the service of alcohol at your location. Please speak to your Event Manager and Northern Beaches Council for further information on pricing + potential council restrictions.

WHERE CAN GUESTS SMOKE?

50 metres away from the venue when the café is still open. If the cafe is closed + your event is upstairs, you can smoke in the pergola area just downstairs.

WHEN IS MY FINAL DETAILS FORM DUE?

4 weeks before your event.

WHEN IS MY FINAL INVOICE DUE?

3 weeks before your event. 

WHEN ARE THE FINAL GUEST NUMBERS FOR MY EVENT DUE?

4 weeks before your event.

CAN I ADD GUESTS AFTER I PAY MY FINAL INVOICE?

Yes, you are able to add guests up to the day of your event, pending availability with our kitchen team.

CAN I HAVE A REFUND FOR ANY GUESTS THAT DROP OUT FROM THE GUEST LIST AFTER THE FINAL INVOICE HAS BEEN PAID?

Unfortunately, we are unable to refund after the Final Invoice is issued.

CAN I LEAVE MY WEDDING OR EVENT ITEMS AT THE BOATHOUSE + PICK UP THE FOLLOWING DAY?

You are welcome to do this, however all gifts + cards must be taken home by an allocated guest, or family member on the night of the event, and are not to be kept overnight at the venue.
