Please see below some frequently asked questions about events at Rose Bay House and The Boathouse Rose Bay Cafe. Please contact your Event Manager if we can help with anything else at all.

WHAT IS THE CAPACITY AT ROSE BAY?

Group Bookings in Rose Bay House: 8 - 20 guests - seated

Large Group Bookings in Rose Bay House: 21 - 36 - seated

Exclusive Events in Rose Bay House: up to 80 guests - seated

Semi Exclusive Event in Rose Bay House: up to 36 guests – seated and 50 guests canape

Breakfast Events in Rose Bay House: up to 50 guests seated + up to 50 guests canapé

Events in The Boathouse Rose Bay Cafe: up to 100 guests for a canapé event

 

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE VENUE HIRE FEE?

Included in your exclusive use of the venue, The Boathouse Team to set up, pack down and to take care of you and your guests for the duration of your event, standard table settings, and general venue styling.  

 

WHAT DOES A STANDARD TABLE SET-UP INCLUDE?

Exclusive Events + Semi Exclusive Events in the Restaurant

Linen napkins, dinner plates, cutlery, glassware and personalised menu

Group Bookings, Large Group Bookings + Breakfast Events

WHAT IS THE LONGEST TIME FRAME WHICH WE CAN HOLD OUR EVENT?

Group Bookings in Rose Bay House: 2.5 hours is the maximum time frame

Large Group Bookings in Rose Bay House: 4 hours is the maximum time frame

Exclusive Events in Rose Bay House: 5 hours for weddings and 4 hours for events

Semi Exclusive Event in Rose Bay House: 4 hours is the maximum time frame

Breakfast Event in Rose Bay House: 2 hours is the maximum time frame

Events in The Boathouse Rose Bay Cafe: The option to run for any 4 hour period between 2pm - 8pm.

All events in the restaurant have a conclusion time of 11.00pm, except for Sundays which must conclude by 10.00pm

All Cafe events must conclude at 8:00pm

Please note public holiday times vary.

  

 CAN WE OPT FOR A BAR TAB OR BEVERAGES ON CONSUMPTION FOR OUR EVENT? 

Bar tabs and beverages on consumption may be an option for your event. Please contact your Event Manager to enquire.

 

DO YOU HAVE SPIRIT OPTIONS?

We can organise spirits to be available for your event. You can choose to have a pre-paid bar tab or allow for guests to purchase spirits as they go. Please let your Event Manager know prior to your event if you would like to have spirits.

 

DOES THE BOATHOUSE ROSE BAY OFFER BYO OPTIONS?

We do not offer BYO options.

 

WHEN CAN OUR VENDORS HAVE FULL ACCESS TO THE VENUE?

Please confirm with your Event Manager access for setting up + collecting items.

 

DOES THE BOATHOUSE ROSE BAY HAVE WHEELCHAIR ACCESS?

There is wheelchair access to The Boathouse Rose Bay Cafe, please note that the cafe wheelchair access ramp is located through the Rose Bay Park, just 30 meters up the road from the Restaurant. However there is no wheelchair access to the Restaurant (there are just a couple of stairs to enter the main part of the Restaurant, which our team are more than happy to assist with if required).

 

HOW MANY BOATHOUSE TEAM ARE SCHEDULED FOR OUR EVENT?

Approximately one team member per 15 guests. 

 

DO YOU CHARGE A FEE FOR CAKE CUTTING + SERVICE?

Cake cutting is complimentary. 

 

CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL BOATHOUSE STYLING TO MY EVENT?

Yes! We can offer styling such as table flowers, candles, placemats, coloured napkins, etc.

Please talk to your Event Manager for more details.

 

DO YOU HAVE RESTRICTIONS FOR BANDS REGARDING NUMBER OF MEMBERS + LEVEL OF NOISE?

Rose Bay House and The Boathouse Rose Bay Cafe reserves the right to monitor the sound levels as needed, in accordance with NSW Legislation and “Protection of the Environment Operations (Noise

Control) Regulations 2017”

Band or a DJ permitted:

Please note, amplified music is permitted in The Kiosk from 12pm - 4pm only

DO YOU CATER FOR OUR GUESTS WITH SPECIAL DIETARY REQUIREMENTS?

Yes, we do! Please list all guests in our Special Meal Requirements section on your Final Details Form and we will cater for their needs

 

WILL THERE BE ANOTHER EVENT BOOKED ON THE SAME DAY?

We take one exclusive event booking per day at Rose Bay House, however please note if you book a Group Booking, Large Group Booking, or a Semi-Exclusive Event Booking, other guests will be dinning in the restaurant at the same time of your booking.

 

DO OUR VENDORS NEED TO BE SEATED AT A GUEST TABLE FOR THEIR MEAL?

They may be seated at a guest table if they happen to be a friend or acquaintance, however, most vendors will be happy to be seated in one of our casual lounge areas for their main meals.

We charge $70.00pp for your vendors and provide a plated main meal + full beverage package. 

 

WHERE CAN GUESTS SMOKE?

Guests may smoke out the front of the restaurant where we offer causal seating, as well as ashtrays to dispose of any remaining cigarette.

 

WHEN IS MY FINAL DETAILS FORM DUE?

3 weeks before your Event.

 

WHEN IS MY FINAL INVOICE DUE?

2 weeks before your Event.

 

WHEN ARE THE FINAL GUEST NUMBERS FOR MY EVENT DUE?

3 weeks before your Event.

 

CAN I ADD GUESTS AFTER I HAVE PAID MY FINAL INVOICE?

Yes, you are able to add guests up to 5 days before your event, pending kitchen team availability.

 

CAN I HAVE A REFUND FOR ANY GUESTS THAT DROP OUT FROM THE GUEST LIST AFTER OUR FINAL INVOICE HAS BEEN PAID?

Unfortunately, we are unable to refund after the Final Invoice is issued.

 

CAN I LEAVE MY EVENT ITEMS AT THE BOATHOUSE ROSE BAY AND PICK THEM UP THE NEXT DAY?

You are welcome to do this, however all gifts and cards must be taken home by an allocated guest, or family member on the night of the event, and are not to be kept overnight at the venue.
