Below are the Terms + Conditions for any Breakfast + Brunch event at The Boathouse Shelly Beach or Moby Dicks Whale Beach.

CAPACITY
The Boathouse Shelly Beach has a capacity of up to 120 guests for a canapé style Brunch + 60 guests for a sit down style Brunch.

Moby Dicks Whale Beach has a capacity of up to 200 guests for a canapé style Brunch + 150 guests for a sit down style Brunch.

DURATION
This package has a duration of 3 hours. Your breakfast/brunch Event can occur at any time of the morning; however, the finish time must be no later than 1pm.

EVENT DAYS
Breakfast + Brunch events are available any day of the week, Monday-Sunday.
Please enquire with our team for minimum spends applicable on Public Holiday dates.

EVENT SPACES

The Boathouse Shelly Beach offers Breakfast + Brunch events in the upstairs event space only. The downstairs space at this venue is not available to be booked for a Breakfast + Brunch event due to the daily café trade.

THE BOATHOUSE CAFÉ + MOBY DICKS WHALE BEACH HOURS OF OPERATION
The Boathouse Shelly Beach café is open 7 days of the week from 7am - 4pm.

Moby Dicks Whale Beach is open for private events only.

MANDATORY FEES
For any Breakfast or Brunch Event held at The Boathouse Shelly Beach or Moby Dicks Whale Beach, a mandatory fee per person applies. This cost includes a food package, beverage package, and venue hire per person. This cost goes towards your minimum spend.

MINIMUM SPEND
A minimum spend applies for each event:

PEAK SEASON (Oct-April)

Monday-Thursday: $2,500 Friday-Sunday $3,500

LOW SEASON (May-Sept)

Monday-Thursday: $2,000 Friday-Sunday $3,000

Should your guest numbers fall short of the minimum spend, the full minimum tariff will be charged.

DEPOSIT, PAYMENT TERMS + SECURITY + AGREEMENT FORM
To confirm your booking, we require an initial security deposit (credited towards the final account) and agreement form to be signed.

The deposit is required within 7 days of receiving your confirmation, once paid this reflects your recognition + agreement with the Terms + Conditions outlined in your package.

Once you have confirmed your booking, we also require a signed + completed copy of the Security + Agreement Form - this is to be returned within 7 days.

The Boathouse Group holds the right to cancel any bookings not held with a Deposit payment + completed Security + Agreement Form.

50% of the minimum spend is due 60 days before your event (credited towards the final account). Full payment is due 21 days prior to the event date, no later.

Payment by cash, direct debit or bank cheque incurs no surcharge.

Any payments paid by credit card will incur a 1.7% surcharge – MasterCard, Visa or 2% surcharge for American Express only.

Any payments made are non-refundable.

FINAL NUMBERS + MENU SELECTION
The guaranteed number of guests attending is required at least 21 days prior to the event, for catering + ordering needs. Once final numbers are provided, this will be taken as confirmed. The final invoice will be issued to you 21 days prior to your event.

Catering will be provided for this number + this will be the minimum charged irrespective of last-minute cancellations. Guest cancellations cannot be credited towards other elements of your event including additional styling.

All final food + beverage selections are also required at least 28 days prior.

All food is subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for this.

ADDITIONAL (SUPPLIER) MEALS
Meals for entertainers, photographers + videographers must be supplied at $70.00 per person. This will include a main sit down meal in their break, + drinks throughout. It does not include canapés.

UNDER 18’S MEALS
The charge for guests under 18 years including the food + drinks is $90.00 per person. For kids under 10 years requiring children’s meals + drinks, the cost is $25.00 per person. For little ones requiring no food or beverages there is no charge.

ALCOHOL + DECORUM
The Boathouse Shelly Beach and Moby Dicks Whale Beach are fully licensed venues. No BYO beverages are permitted. It is your responsibility to ensure the orderly conduct of your guests. All beverages are subject to seasonal change; however, notification will be given for this.

BUMP IN + BUMP OUT
Access for set up is 2 hours prior to your event unless stated otherwise by your Event Coordinator. Bump out is to be completed directed after any event. For any items left behind, The Boathouse Group takes no responsibility for any loss or damage.

DECOR + STYLING
All major furniture items, fixtures + fittings must remain as styled + positioned by The Boathouse Group.  The Boathouse team are only too happy to offer complimentary placement of your bonbonnieres + place cards. Anything additional must be discussed + approved by the Event Coordinator prior to your event. The Boathouse Group offer an additional styling service to suit your event. Please contact us for theming ideas + a quote.

DECORATIONS
Nothing is to be nailed, screwed, blue-tacked or adhered in any way to any wall, door or other part of the venue. If any items are attached to our walls or common areas fees apply for any damage occurred. All decorations must be approved by the Event Coordinator prior to the reception.

HANGING ITEMS FROM THE CEILING
You are welcome to hang items from the existing hooks on the ceiling within the venues. We can hang the items/goods for you at an additional cost, please ask us for
a quote. Alternatively, if you decide to hang the goods yourself The Boathouse Group is not liable for any falls/injuries that might occur to any person or damage of any items/goods. All hanging items must be approved by the Event Coordinator prior.

EQUIPMENT HIRE
The Boathouse Group has established relationships with professional hire companies + has recommended suppliers to look after all your equipment needs + services. Please contact us for further information on our recommendations.

EXTERNAL CONTRACTORS
All external contractors + hire must be advised to The Boathouse Group 14 days prior to your event + are subject to approval by management. The Boathouse Group can apply limits or time restrictions on the contractors.

ENTERTAINMENT/MUSIC
The Boathouse Shelly Beach and Moby Dicks Whale Beach is only too happy to offer some suggestions for your music entertainment. All equipment must be supplied by your hired Band or DJ as The Boathouse Group does not have facilities for this.

Whilst we understand that you are wanting music at your Event, The Boathouse Group reserves the right to monitor the sound levels as needed, in accordance with NSW Legislation “Protection of the Environment Operations (Noise Control) Regulations 2017”. Due to the space + Northern Beaches Residential Time-of-Day Noise Restrictions, a 3-piece band is the maximum we can allow, this includes the vocalist, no subwoofers are to be used in or outside the venue at any time.

PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE
The Boathouse Shelly Beach and Moby Dicks Whale Beach does hold public liability insurance however all external suppliers will be required to have their own Public Liability Insurance. The Boathouse Group public liability insurance is very specific to each venue + fit out. No harm or damage to guests caused by any external supplier equipment, styling decor, furniture or goods are covered by The Boathouse Group.

DUE CARE
Whilst our team will take care, no responsibility will be taken for damage or loss of goods, equipment or merchandise left on the premises prior to, during or after the event. The following items are not permitted; wax candles (unless in a glass vase), confetti, rice, streamer poppers, flower petals, or sequin type scatters e.g. stars, hearts.

TASTINGS
The Boathouse Group does not offer food or beverage tastings. However, the menus at Barrenjoey House Palm Beach, The Boathouse Shelly Beach, The Boathouse Balmoral Beach, The Boathouse Palm Beach, The Boathouse Rose Bay reflect the style we bring to suit your event.

DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
The Boathouse Group is happy to accommodate dietary requirements. Information on dietary requirements are to be provided to the team 28 days prior, any dietary requirements we are made aware of within 28 days or on the day we will try our upmost to accommodate however this cannot be guaranteed.

If more than 20% of guests have the same dietary requirement this may result in a selected menu item being replaced for all guests.

For any cultural requirements please check with your Event Coordinator.

FOOD ALLERGIES
Please advise details of guests with food allergies when confirming final numbers. Whilst the chefs + kitchen teams will do their utmost to ensure the said allergen is not in the meals prepared, we cannot guarantee it as our kitchen does use a wide variety of ingredients on a daily basis.

PRICES
The Boathouse Group makes every effort to maintain prices, however they may be subject to alteration prior to your wedding or event due to food, beverage and general price increases. However, we will guarantee that the contracted base price per person for food, and beverage will remain, as per the signed contract. Though, any upgrades (food or beverage) to this base price are subject to price increases, this also applies to styling/floral upgrades as we cannot guarantee or honour previous pricing for this. All prices are inclusive of GST. 

SMOKING
In accordance with the NSW Health + Hygiene laws, smoking is not prohibited within The Boathouse Shelly Beach or Moby Dicks Whale Beach, in the gardens + surrounding areas. Guests will be directed to a designated smoking area outside.

GRATUITY
Gratuities are discretional + are appreciated by The Boathouse team.

INDEMNITY
The Boathouse Group guarantees the use of the freshest ingredients + ensures that food is prepared under the most hygienic conditions. However, no liability is taken by The Boathouse Group for any latent defect in any product used.

PARKING
The Boathouse Shelly Beach and Moby Dicks Whale Beach has no reserved parking specifically for that venue.

The Boathouse Shelly Beach:

All guest parking is situated in the council car park at the top of Marine Parade. The park is metered by the council. All on street parking around Shelly Beach is 2 hours until 10pm.

Moby Dicks Whale Beach:

Guest parking is situated in the council car park at Whale Beach car park. The park is metered by the council. For on street parking suggestions, please contact your Event Coordinator.

SURPRISES
The Boathouse Group cannot be held responsible for the outcome of any surprises to be held + organised prior to, on or after your event day that has been organised by the party host, friend or family member known to the hosts. The Boathouse Group will do everything it can to ensure that any special surprises or organised presents unknown to the party hosts can be carried out.

FLOWERS
Both The Boathouse Shelly Beach and Moby Dicks Whale Beach include a number of flower displays throughout the venue for your event. The Boathouse Group cannot guarantee a particular type of flower/ colour due to the nature of seasonality + availability. These flowers are a display only + cannot be taken home at the end of your Wedding or Event

EARLY ARRIVAL OF GUESTS
All events begin strictly at the organised time on your run sheet. For any guests arriving early + before this time, a surcharge will be charged to your Credit Card. The fee for this is $500.00 + $15.00 per person for every half hour that guests turn up early at the venue prior to the agreed upon event start time.

LATE DEPARTURE OF GUESTS
All events conclude strictly at the organised time on your run sheet. For any guests which depart after this time, a surcharge will be charged to your Credit Card. The fee for this is $500.00 + $15.00 per person for every half hour that guests stay back late at the venue past the agreed upon event time.

SECURITY
Organisers/Hosts are financially liable for any damage sustained, or loss incurred to The Boathouse Shelly Beach or Moby Dicks Whale Beach property, fixtures or fittings, through their own actions, those of their guests, sub-contractors + contractors.

Credit Card details are required at the time of your booking to cover any damages that may occur. The Security + Agreement Form will be supplied to you on the day of your booking to fill out + return to the Event Coordinator within 7 days. Credit Card details are the only form of security accepted.

CLEANING FEE
A cleaning fee will be charged, at the discretion of Management, should the premises be left in an unacceptable state.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All payments made are non-refundable.

All cancellations or change of date made incur a loss of full deposit + any further payments made. No credits will be given for change of date or for the general café trade.

Any cancellation made 60 days or less prior to your event, will incur a loss of 50% of the minimum spend.

All cancellations made within 14 days of your event will incur a loss of all monies due as stated on your invoice.

Cancellations must be confirmed to The Boathouse Group in writing.
